Koi Pond
I love fish that I have had lots of them as pets in my life. It is a happy, positive and enjoyable influence from my dad. When I was littlre, I would put me on his motorcycle and went to aquarium shops because I love seeing them swimming in the water. The colours, shapes and patterns of fish were so diverse and facinating. Whenever I saw them swimming in water, I felt the tranquility and peace at that moment. A lot of time, my dad just stood beside me and held my hands. We enjoyed the time togather.
My dad noticed that keeping fish would be a good habbit for me. When we were in an aquarium shop, we discussed what type of fish we like. Apparently, there was huge difference between my dad and I. My dad loved Osteoglossidae. In that time, having Osteoglossidae in living room was a popular way to show off people's wealth. It seems to be very vulgar. Byt that is the reality. My dad liked Alligator gar that he could safely and freely to live in an aquarrium with Osteoglossidae. Because they didn't say each other as delicious prays. He loved Severum as well. They wete easy to keep. They changed colours and patterns while becoming mature. He also loved Koi and gold fish. koi represents perseverance, strength, courage, good fortune and longevity in Japanese culture that Taiwan had lots of influence from Japan. I think severum, gold fish and koi were my dad's true love.
I love smaller varieties of fish, sucxh as terra, beta, guppy, molly and so on. If I can breed them, that is even better. There was a period of time that I was learning gene expression of guppy, I had 20 of 1 foot aquaium in my room. I was trying to create the guppy I have being dreaming about. I didn't reach the goal at the end. But it led me to develop my career as a researcher.
Let's go back to the original story. My dad found out how much I love keeping fish as my pets. We searched information and learned knowledge and techniques togather. It was the moment that we loved the company with each other. Afterward, keeping fish becaomes a profound habbit in my life.
I love watching koi swimming in water. They display both elegance and strength, reminding me that it’s possible to be kind and influential simultaneously in life. Koi becomes one of the theme that I love to paint. I even watch lots of vedios on line. While watching information online, there are lots of vivid images of Koi Pond apprearing in my mind. I am eager to paint them out before I forgot them.
Today is 15th August in Lu7nar calendar. It is also my dad's 85th birthday.
